Can anyone recommend a dealer/person to help with some mechanical issues with the scoot. I live in Erskine so if there is anyone local that you could put me in contact with it would be appreciated

Thanks for the replies. I have a couple of issues. When I start the scoot there is a mass of oil pishing out of the exhaust. Also some oil leaking from the cylinder head but not drastic. Also went to replace the back brake shoes and there was oil over the shoes so must be a broken oil seal. Any help appreciated

Hi Bainie, you didn't say where you are in Erskine? As Les and yourself said it looks like your seals are buggered and you'll need to strip the engine down and replace them.

Thanks for the reply, I am in Mainscroft across from the Bridgewater Centre. Sound like a big job, if you could recommend someone who could have a look I will gladly pay what's required, sounds like too big a job for me as I am limited in mechanical knowledge

I have a 150cc scooter. It SOMETIMES starts up fine. When it's on, it moves by itself. when I'm riding it in the streets, it also dies on me. What's the issue?

If it's moving by itself when in gear and clutch is in , your clutch needs adjusted or it's fuked !! As for dying on you could be numerous things from fuel , plug , stator plate etc etc

hi sounds like gearbox side main oil seal, check the oil level if it is burning the oil out of your gearbox or you may have a problem with the auto lube, or your putting in to much oil if your running a upgrade kit, and pre mixing ?do you have play in the back wheel bearing as this will degrade your seal, or it may just be worn out, it sounds like split the casings and replace all seals and rear bearing hope this helps regarding the other issue,it sounds like a worn clutch basket the plates have chapped groves in the basket, this retains the plates in the groves, forcing them together creating friction when the clutch lever is depressed in, this is worse case, or if you have play in the clutch lever before it starts to load then this should be adjusted out, so you have slight play before load, making sure that the clutch has the weight of the clutch springs and not the cable.
